# Kinfield Run and Recover : proposition de contrat mensuel dans quatre villes

## Cover

### Kinfield Run and Recover

*Retainer proposal*

Four cities, one Saturday a month each, for a season that starts September 4. Written for Ellie Nakamura and the Kinfield brand team by Hannah and Jamal at Tessellate.

## Why a retainer

### Why we'd run this as a retainer

*The brief*

You opened stores in Chicago, Denver and Austin in June. A store sells shoes. A Saturday morning crew is what makes people come back.

You asked us for a monthly run and recovery event in Boston plus the three new cities, 150 runners each, through the winter. We could quote it as twenty-four separate events. We'd rather not, because the thing you are buying is the habit, and habits break when the producer changes.

So it is one team, the same faces in each city every month, and a fee that only moves when the scope does. Hannah and I have both run clubs ourselves. If we've misread anything, tell us before the numbers. Jamal

## What a month includes

### What you get, in each city

*Every month*

The same four pieces, every Saturday, so runners know exactly what they are showing up for.

### The run

An 8k route with a 5k cut-off, marshaled and permitted, from your store door at 7:00.

*Runners crossing a bridge at dawn*

### The recovery

Two sauna trailers, cold plunge, a physical therapist on mobility and coffee from a local roaster.

*Sauna trailers and cold plunge in a plaza*

### The content

One photographer and one vertical shooter per city. Edits on your channels by Sunday night.

*Photographer shooting runners at sunrise*

### The data

Consent-based sign-up, attendance by runner, return rate and store visits after each run.

*Runner checking in with a phone*

## Programs we run

### Lowtide Swim, sunrise series

*Swimmers wading into the sea at sunrise*

### Brightline Cycling, Sunday rides

*Cyclists leaving a bike store on a Sunday morning*

### Kinfield pilot, Boston

*Runners stretching in a park after a morning run*

## How a month runs

Same rhythm every month. You will always know which city is next and what it needs from your store team.

### 1. Planning call, first Monday

Forty minutes with your brand and retail leads. Routes, partners, any product drop we should build a run around.

### 2. Four Saturdays, four cities

Boston first, then Chicago, Denver and Austin. One city producer each, Jamal on the phone for all four.

### 3. Content out by Sunday night

Photos and vertical edits delivered to your shared drive within 36 hours of each run.

### 4. Month close, last Friday

One page per city: runners, return rate, store visits, what we'd change. A call only if something needs deciding.

## From clients

### What it's like to work with us

> Hannah called us at 5 a.m. about a jellyfish warning, moved the swim 400 yards up the beach and still started on time. That is the job.

— Rosalind Carney, Founder, Lowtide Swim

> Jamal told us to cut the ride count from weekly to monthly. Attendance went up and the cost halved. I did not expect an agency to argue for less work.

— Devon Whitaker, Head of Retail, Brightline Cycling

> The monthly page is the only report our CEO reads end to end. Return rate, store visits, one recommendation. Nothing else.

— Tamsin Oyelowo, Marketing Director, Lowtide Swim

## The point

People come for the run. They come back for each other.

## The fee

### What it costs

USD. A monthly fee for four cities, six-month minimum, then 30 days' notice either way. Season setup is a one-off. Store space and product samples come from Kinfield. Invoiced on the first of each month.

## The small print

The questions we'd ask if we were you.

### What if it rains, or snows?

We run in rain. Lightning, ice or a heat advisory moves the run to the store with a 45-minute mobility class instead, decided by 5:00 a.m. and posted to the group by 5:15. It counts as that month's event.

### What happens if more than 150 people show up?

Up to 180 we absorb it. Above that, a second marshal team and more recovery slots add $1,140 per run, and we will tell you before booking it.

### How do we end it?

Six months minimum, then 30 days' notice from either side. The recovery kits are yours from day one, so they stay with you if we part ways.

### What counts as scope creep?

A fifth city, a second monthly run or a one-off activation. Each is quoted separately. Moving a date or a route inside the month is not; that is just the job.

### Who owns the runner data?

Kinfield owns it. Runners opt in at sign-up. We hold a copy only to build the monthly report and delete it if the retainer ends.

## Sign-off
