# Halfmoon Live | Lancements, conférences et événements live à Liverpool

## Halfmoon Live

*Crowd silhouetted against a violet stage wash*

*LED volume stage before doors*

*Projection mapping on a waterfront wall at night*

*Full conference hall under a lighting rig*

*Lighting truss at dusk*

*Halfmoon Live*

## Position

A launch is remembered for one minute. We design backwards from that minute.

## The studio

### The studio in numbers

Fourteen people in a studio and build shop on Jamaica Street. Founded in 2016 by Niamh Doherty and Kwabena Mensah, who still run every show.

### People, two founders

**14**

### Live events delivered

**186**

### Set pieces reused

**71%**

### Carbon per guest, average

**2.1 kg**

## Selected work

### Seventh Wave, for Sundew Swim

*Projection-mapped lido at night*

### Signal Hall, for Tandem Grid

*Conference stage with a large LED wall*

### Night Lap, for Stridewell

*Night runners under coloured light arches*

### Listening Rooms, for Northpaw Records

*Audience inside a glowing LED room*

## Point of view

### The room is the medium

*How we see it*

Most launches are designed as content first and rooms second. We think that has it the wrong way round, and the numbers from our last forty shows agree.

A livestream carries what the room felt. If two hundred people lean forward at the same moment, the stream shows it and the clip travels. If they are standing at a bar waiting for a speech, no edit will save it.

So we start with the floor: where people stand, how long they stay, what they see first. The stream, the social cuts and the press pack are built from that, not the other way round.

## Case study

### Signal Hall, step by step

Tandem Grid's first user conference: 900 in the room, 14,200 online, one day. The clearest example of how a show leaves our studio.

### The floor before the stage

*Hall floor marked out for a layout*

### A 3D walkthrough, signed off in one call

*Laptop showing a 3D render of the stage*

### One wall, three uses

*LED wall behind an empty stage*

### The report, ten days later

*Tablet showing an event report*

## Builds

### The hour before the room fills is ours.

*Before doors*

*Empty hall before doors*

*Crew rigging a lighting truss*

*Moving head lights in haze*

*Modular set pieces in a workshop*

*Crowd at a launch party*

*Camera filming a stage for a livestream*

## How we work

### How a show is made

The same five stages for a forty-person dinner or a nine-hundred-person conference. Only the length of each changes.

### 1. The minute

Before any venue or budget, we agree the one moment guests should leave talking about. Everything after is tested against it.

### 2. Floor and flow

Floorplan, capacity, dwell time and sightlines, drawn in a real-time 3D model you can walk through on a call.

### 3. Production planning

A live production schedule shared with you and every supplier. RAMS, rider, crew calls and contingency in one place.

### 4. Load-in to derig

Our producers stay on site from crew call to the last truck. Nobody you met in the pitch disappears on show day.

### 5. The report

Ten working days after the show: attendance, dwell time, stream data, consented guest data and carbon per guest.

### Bring us the date

## Clients

### From the people who booked us

> Our keynote ran four minutes over and they recut the evening set live so the stream still hit its slot. Nobody in the room noticed, which was the point.

— Ruth Okonedo-Blake, VP Marketing, Tandem Grid

> They told us the dock lido could hold 600, not the 800 we wanted, and showed us the egress maths. The smaller night sold out and the clip did 2.3 million views.

— Aisling Fennelly, Founder, Sundew Swim

> Twelve nights, forty people a night, and not one technical stop. The LED room is now the thing fans ask us to bring back.

— Marcus Abernathy-Cole, Head of Artist Development, Northpaw Records

> The post-run report showed which light arches people slowed down at. We are rebuilding next year's route around those three spots.

— Jess Taubman, Brand Experience Lead, Stridewell
